Job Description
We’re looking for a Technical Owner to join our Innovation Hub; a team focused on building and releasing game prototypes early to validate fun, retention, and new mechanics.

As Technical Owner, you’ll help power Miniclip’s New Games Development Team, the studio’s experimental engine for fast discovery and validation of new mobile game ideas.
You will: Shape the technical direction that enables early-release game prototypes (3–5 weeks) focused on validating fun, defined as a sticky core gameplay mechanic that players immediately enjoy, understand quickly, and want to return to play again.
Proactively takes initiative in day-to-day work and technical decision-making.
Support fast "go" or "kill" decisions through clear validation KPIs by enabling rapid prototyping.
Build and evolve lightweight tools, technical frameworks, and workflows that allow anyone on the team to prototype and release games.
Contribute hands-on by coding and prototyping in Unity, unblocking the team and accelerating iteration when needed.
Coach developers and grow team autonomy so experimentation scales through people, not bottlenecks.
Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering Managers and challenge ideas in the team constructively to improve outcomes.
Go beyond your core responsibilities when needed to remove impediments and help the team move faster together.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a collaborative, proactive, and hands-on technical leader who enjoys mentoring, experimentation, learning, and building games early. You continuously learn, challenge your own skillset, and encourage the same mindset in others.
Passion for creating great new games, experimenting with new ideas and continuous self-development.
5+ years of professional experience with Unity.
Proven expertise in software design patterns and sound engineering practices, combined with a hands-on mindset.
Ability to work around the existing codebase taken from 3rd party sources such as Github & Asset Stores.
Strong understanding of rapid prototyping best practices, with experience mentoring and coaching developers to improve their skills and become stronger contributors.
Experience in guiding technical direction in fast-paced, experimental, Agile environments.
Comfort with early release, “Just Enough” quality, and learning through iteration.
Strong team communication, collaboration, and planning skills, with a mindset focused on shared ownership and collective effort.
Success Looks Like
A consistently high release cadence of early game prototypes (12+ per year).
A team that demonstrates growing autonomy, confidence, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Tools and workflows that reduce friction, eliminate unnecessary hurdles and enable faster iteration cycles.
Potential hit games released that at minimum, consistently generate learnings around fun and retention, with those learnings directly informing and improving subsequent prototypes.
