Senior Data & Integration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implementing ETL/ELT processes and data integration patterns, including data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and integration across enterprise systems.

• Work with structured and unstructured data.

• Analyze data and generate insights to support decision-making.

• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.

• Translate business needs into data solutions.

• Develop dashboards and reports.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Provide technical direction and mentor engineering teams.

Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or in similar areas.

• 6+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technology field.

• 3+ years of experience in a Technical Lead / Lead Engineer role, with demonstrated experience providing technical direction and mentoring engineering teams.

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, including Databricks Jobs/Workflows, Notebooks, SQL Warehouses, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.

• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data integration patterns, including data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and integration across enterprise systems.

• Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, and PySpark.

• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based integration architectures, particularly using Microsoft Azure integration services.

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including infrastructure provisioning, reusable modules, configuration management, and deployment automation.

• Strong experience with Azure integration services, particularly Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hubs, and Azure Functions, including messaging, event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and API-based integrations.

• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and system-to-system integrations, including authentication, authorization, error handling, retries, and monitoring.

• Experience with Azure DevOps, including Git, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments across Development, QA, and Production environments.

• Experience designing secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions, covering both data engineering and integration architectures.

• Strong understanding of cloud security and identity management, including Managed Identities, Service Principals, OAuth 2.0, certificates, and secure secrets management.

• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting mechanisms using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.

• Proven ability to provide technical leadership, establish development standards, guide engineering teams, conduct code reviews, and ensure solution quality.

• Ability to work across data engineering and integration domains, translating business and technical requirements into robust architectural solutions.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience working with international and distributed teams. Proactive, accountable, and pragmatic mindset, with a strong sense of ownership and ability to drive technical topics independently.

• Fluent in English - written and spoken (mandatory).

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Azure certifications, particularly Azure Developer or Azure Solutions Architect.

• Experience with Azure API Management (APIM) and enterprise API governance.

• Experience with Azure Event Grid and other Azure messaging and event-driven services.

• Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as Oracle, Salesforce, and other cloud-based systems.

• Experience with hybrid integration architectures, connecting on-premises systems with cloud-based platforms.

• Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP), publish/subscribe, event sourcing, and distributed systems.

• Experience with mTLS, certificate management, and advanced authentication mechanisms.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience working in large international organizations or US-based projects. Knowledge of data governance, security, data quality, and enterprise data-platform best practices.
