We would like to meet a Senior Cloud & Middleware Operations Engineer (AWS) for a project in Lisbon.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and administer AWS and on-premises infrastructures, ensuring the stability, security, availability, and service quality of business-critical systems. - Provision, maintain, and continuously improve complex environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation, particularly Ansible, Python, and AWS CloudFormation. - Operate and support middleware and integration platforms, including Apache Camel, JBoss, Quarkus, and Apache Web Server. - Manage and troubleshoot enterprise integrations using Web Services, SFTP, OpenFT, OIDC, and TLS/SSL. - Monitor infrastructure, applications, interfaces, and integration services, proactively identifying and resolving incidents, performance issues, and operational risks. - Lead incident investigation, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), implementing sustainable corrective and preventive actions. - Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to ensure reliable, secure, and performant environments. - Ensure the stable operation of business-critical and mission-critical systems and integration platforms, maintaining high levels of availability and service quality. - Support deployment and release activities across multiple environments, ensuring the correct execution of operational processes. - Work within Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, using tools such as Jira. - Maintain accurate technical and operational documentation, including procedures, solutions, and system information. - Take end-to-end ownership of technical solutions and operational activities, working independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. - Relevant certifications in AWS, Linux, Ansible, or middleware technologies will be considered a plus. - 5+ years of experience operating and administering AWS and on-premises infrastructures. - Strong practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and infrastructure automation with advanced Linux administration skills. - Strong hands-on experience with Ansible, Python, and AWS CloudFormation. - Experience operating and supporting middleware and integration platforms, particularly Apache Camel, JBoss, Quarkus, and Apache Web Server. - Strong knowledge of enterprise integration technologies, including Web Services, SFTP, and OpenFT. - Solid understanding of secure authentication and certificate-based security mechanisms, including OIDC and TLS/SSL. - Proven experience in system monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, and structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA). - Knowledge of AWS security, IAM, networking, and infrastructure optimisation practices. - Fluent in English (mandatory).
