Role Description The Professor de Matemática is a full-time, on-site teaching role based in Portugal at Colégio Guadalupe. This position is responsible for planning and delivering engaging mathematics lessons aligned with the school's curriculum, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.

Daily tasks include preparing lesson plans, teaching classes across relevant year groups, grading assignments and exams, maintaining accurate records of student performance, and offering academic support outside regular class hours when needed. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, participating in school meetings and events, and communicating regularly with parents or guardians about student progress.

The Professor de Matemática is expected to model professional conduct, contribute to an inclusive classroom environment, and integrate appropriate educational technologies into teaching practice.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of mathematics and mathematics education, with the ability to teach core topics clearly at the appropriate grade levels. - Experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment design that supports diverse learning needs. - Capacity to use educational technology, digital learning platforms, and relevant tools to enhance instruction and student engagement. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, students, and families. - Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field; teaching certification or qualification recognized in Portugal is preferred. - Prior teaching experience in school settings, ideally in Portuguese education or similar curricula; familiarity with local educational standards is an advantage. - Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and to the social, emotional, and academic development of all students. - Proficiency in Portuguese; additional language skills (such as English) are beneficial.
