We're looking for a
Technical Lead
to join an international technology environment and take ownership of the design and delivery of scalable, high-quality solutions using
OutSystems . In this role, you'll act as the bridge between
business and technical teams , translating complex requirements into robust technical solutions while guiding development teams, defining architectural best practices, and ensuring technical excellence throughout the entire delivery lifecycle.
This is a
100% remote position , but candidates
must be based and reside in Portugal .
What You'll Be Doing: Take technical ownership of projects, driving the solution from
ideation and architecture through development and production . Design and implement
scalable, secure, and high-performing solution architectures
based on business requirements and technical constraints. Act as the
senior technical reference
within the team, combining technical leadership with hands-on development. Ensure the overall
technical quality, maintainability, performance, and scalability
of delivered solutions. Lead and mentor developers, providing guidance on
OutSystems architecture, development standards, and engineering best practices . Work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical teams to translate requirements into effective solutions. Identify and proactively address
technical dependencies, risks, blockers, and architectural challenges . Influence technical decisions by leveraging expertise in
OutSystems and complementary technologies . Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices through documentation, reusable components, knowledge sharing, and technical standards. Explore and leverage emerging technologies, including
AI/ML, Progressive Web Apps (PWA), distributed systems, and modern UX approaches , where relevant.
What We're Looking For: Must-Have: 6+ years of professional software development experience . At least
2 years of experience in a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or similar technical leadership role . Strong hands-on experience delivering projects using
OutSystems . Solid understanding of
solution architecture, design patterns, application performance, scalability, and software engineering best practices . Experience developing
web and/or mobile applications . Strong technical background with technologies such as
.NET, C#, SQL, REST APIs, SOAP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript . Experience across the full
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) . Strong knowledge of delivery methodologies such as
Agile and Scrum . Experience mentoring developers and providing
technical and architectural guidance . Ability to lead technical initiatives involving
multiple teams, stakeholders, and international environments . Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business challenges into practical technical solutions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong
customer and business orientation . Professional proficiency in
English .
Highly Valued: OutSystems certifications . Previous experience designing or leading
enterprise-scale OutSystems architectures . Experience working with distributed or international teams. Knowledge of complementary technologies and concepts such as
AI/ML, PWA, distributed database systems, cloud technologies, and UX design .
Education: Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field
