Field Service Technician em Beja, Portugal

Globe 24-7, in partnership with a leading mining equipment and services organisation, is recruiting experienced Field Service Technicians to join its technical team in Portugal.

This is a full-time opportunity for experienced mining technicians with strong hands-on exposure to heavy mining equipment and a genuine understanding of underground mining environments.

The successful candidates will provide technical service and maintenance support across mining equipment, working directly with customers to maximise equipment availability, reliability and performance.

The Role

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy mining equipment in field and customer environments.

The role requires a highly practical technician who can diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults, carry out repairs safely and efficiently, and provide high-quality technical support across mining equipment.

Experience with Sandvik and/or Komatsu equipment is highly desirable, with previous exposure to underground mining equipment and operations essential .

The Responsibilities

• Carry out field-based inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy mining equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment faults.
• Perform planned, preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions.
• Conduct equipment inspections and condition assessments.
• Complete equipment servicing, component replacement and repair activities in accordance with technical specifications.
• Support equipment commissioning, testing and return-to-service activities where required.
• Provide technical support to customers and operational teams.
• Maintain accurate service reports, technical records and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with applicable HSE requirements and technical procedures.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship while minimising equipment downtime.

The Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician, Mining Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician or similar role.
• Mining experience is essential.
• Previous experience working with Sandvik and/or Komatsu mining equipment is highly desirable.
• Previous exposure to underground mining operations is essential.
• Strong hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting capability.
• Ability to read and interpret technical, hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
• Experience carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in field-based environments while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and technical standards.
• Willingness to travel to customer and mining sites as required.
