Who are we?

Nordhealth (OB:NORDH) is the leading provider of cloud-based Practice Information Management Software (PIMS) to veterinary and therapy professionals.

Over the last three years, we have grown our Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and team size by almost 10x. Today, more than 30,000 therapy and veterinary professionals use our software everyday to help treat over 20 million patients annually across 55+ countries. It’s been an exciting growth journey so far and we are just getting started. Our mission is to enable healthcare professionals to deliver better patient care through software, with a goal to help serve over 200 million patients by 2030 . In support of this growth mission, in May 2021, Nordhealth raised €120M through a public-listing on Euronext Growth Oslo stock exchange.

Nordhealth is a remote-first company, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. Our 430+ employees work either remotely or from offices/collaboration hubs. While our market presence is currently strongest in the Nordics, our customer base is rapidly growing in North America and Europe, with clients in the US, UK, Spain, Latin America, Australia, and many others. About the role

You will take over leadership of our Data Migrations and Efficiency Engineering teams from Nordhealth’s founder, who leads them today. You’ll get a thorough, hands-on handover and ongoing support, not a cold start. The position reports to our VP of Customer Experience, reflecting how this role combines engineering leadership with customer onboarding and enterprise delivery.

This is not a typical engineering management role, and we say that as a feature. You will lead around ten people across two closely related areas: the Data Migrations team , which builds our migration platform and delivers migrations from legacy systems worldwide, and Efficiency Engineering , a small, exceptionally effective group building pragmatic tooling and automation that accelerates customer onboarding and removes operational bottlenecks, for example bulk data entry and configuration tools that work ahead of the core product’s release cycle. Efficiency Engineering works closely with core product engineering: solutions that prove themselves in daily onboarding use are candidates to become part of the core product over time.

The role combines engineering leadership with programme management and customer-facing delivery: we run enterprise migration programmes for some of the largest veterinary groups in Europe, moving hundreds of clinics on committed timelines, and you will own those programmes end to end, including the migration-related relationships with enterprise customers’ leadership. You won’t be alone: a migration coordinator handles day-to-day SME migration scheduling and operational coordination, and a lead architect provides technical architecture leadership. You are accountable for priorities, direction, overall delivery performance, capacity, escalations and continuous improvement. If you’ve only ever shipped product roadmaps, this role will stretch you; if you’ve run complex delivery programmes and led engineers, it will fit like a glove.

Your strategic mandate is to make your own delivery work shrink: every migration teaches us what to automate next, and the long-term goal is that implementers and customers run migrations themselves through our tooling, with your team building the platform that makes that safe!

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop the Data Migrations and Efficiency Engineering teams: keep talent density high through hiring that raises the bar, stretch and progress your engineers, and manage underperformance when needed

  • Programme manage large multi-market migration programmes with committed timelines, including planning, risk management, steering-group reporting and escalations

  • Own overall SME migration delivery performance, capacity and continuous improvement, with day-to-day scheduling and coordination handled by our migration coordinator

  • Own the migration-related relationships with enterprise customers’ stakeholders through their migration journey, from kickoff to go-live; broader account ownership stays with our commercial and customer success teams

  • Set the priorities and direction for the migration platform, with technical architecture led by our lead architect

  • Balance delivery capacity against platform investment deliberately, and own the migration KPIs

  • Drive the automation and self-service strategy so that migration effort per customer keeps falling as volume grows

  • Make the team more productive with AI: we are AI-first, and migrations are the clearest case of building the factory rather than doing the work; every migration should leave behind tooling that runs the next one better

  • Steer the efficiency engineering work: fast, pragmatic tooling that unblocks onboarding today, with a path for proven workflows into the core product

  • Work in a tight pair with our onboarding product management and core engineering teams on what great onboarding needs from migrations (for example batch data APIs and programmatic configuration)

What will help you to be successful in this role?

Ideally, you have already gained some experience from working in a fast growing, global SaaS company. In addition, our humble wishlist includes:

  • Experience as both an engineer and a people manager; you are credible in architecture discussions about data pipelines, APIs and high-volume data processing, and you have significant experience leading software engineering teams, including hiring, performance management, technical delivery and developing engineers

  • You stay close enough to the code and architecture to make sound technical calls and keep the trust of strong engineers

  • Proven programme or delivery management of complex, deadline-bound technical programmes, ideally involving data migrations, system implementations or enterprise rollouts

  • Comfort working with demanding enterprise customers: you can confidently represent engineering in senior customer discussions, negotiate realistic delivery commitments, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver against them

  • Strong prioritisation instincts in an environment where urgent customer delivery constantly competes with platform investment

  • A bias for automation: you measure success by work your team no longer has to do

  • Fluent English; you will work with a distributed team and customers across Europe and North America

Bonus skills and experience (optional):

  • Healthcare, veterinary or other regulated-domain background

  • Experience with ETL/data conversion tooling or building self-service platforms

  • Experience leading teams through organisational transitions or scale-ups

What’s in it for you?

At Nordhealth, we do things a little bit differently. We value continuous improvement, diverse teams and autonomy which drive our collaboration. Our global healthcare domain is rapidly developing and we are seeking colleagues who enjoy working in this type of environment.

In addition, we offer:

  • The chance to work in a meaningful industry and in a fast-growing, global company on a path to changing digital healthcare. Provet is a product our customers use 5 days a week for at least 8 hours per day!

  • Competitive compensation and benefits

  • Learning and professional growth opportunities

  • The tools you need, and enjoy using

  • Frequent company events and talented colleagues from around the world

If you enjoy working in a fast-growing and international environment with the possibility to make an impact, this might be the perfect job for you. Apply now! We’ll fill the position as soon as we find the right person.
