About Fierra

Fierra is a boutique executive search and leadership advisory firm. We advise Boards and CEOs of the major international consumer businesses on their most senior leadership appointments: Board assessment and succession, CEO and CFO appointments, and the assessment of C-suite leaders across general management and functional specialist roles. Headquartered in London with a growing presence in Lisbon, we are looking for an exceptional Analyst to work with the Managing Partner and consultants on the thinking behind how Fierra presents itself to the market.

About executive search

Executive search is the discipline of identifying, assessing and securing leaders for the most senior roles in an organisation. When a Board needs a new CEO, or a CEO needs a new CFO, they retain a firm like Fierra to map the market, find and rigorously evaluate the strongest candidates - most of whom are not looking for a move - and advise on one of the most consequential decisions a business makes. It is confidential, intellectually demanding and relationship-driven work at the very top of business.

The role

This is a role for a thinker. Fierra competes with the largest firms in the world on the quality of its ideas, and you will be the person who turns those ideas into proposals, pitch documents and published thought leadership that win the confidence of Boards and executive leaders.

Working directly with the Partners, you will build the research and analysis behind Fierra’s point of view on leadership, governance and succession;
write and edit the articles that carry that point of view into the market;
and produce the proposals and pitch materials that convert conversations into mandates. You will also help shape the firm’s strategy and business development priorities: which sectors, which clients, which arguments.

This is not a marketing role and it is not a sales role. It is an intellectual one - closer to a strategy consulting engagement than to a communications job - where rigour, structure and the quality of the written word are what matter.

The role can be based in either London or Lisbon.

What you will do

Research and write Fierra thought pieces, including the underlying analysis, data and interviews that make them credible
Produce client proposals and pitch documents of exceptional quality, from first structure to final PowerPoint
Build and maintain the firm’s core intellectual assets: sector perspectives, frameworks for leadership assessment, and market analysis
Support the Partners on business development strategy, including target-client analysis and preparation for senior meetings
Help develop Fierra’s voice in the market, across published articles, LinkedIn and client communications

Who we’re looking for

Some experience in strategy consulting would be ideal (previous experience in environments such as global strategy consulting firms McKinsey, BCG etc would be advantageous)
A genuine thinker: rigorous, structured and intellectually honest, with real depth in the subjects you care about or the ambition to learn and research new topics on leadership
An exceptional writer in English, clear, precise and persuasive, who can take a complex argument and make it land on a page or a slide
Nerdy in the best sense. You would rather get the analysis right than talk about it, and you take pride in the quality of what you produce
Expert in PowerPoint and Word, comfortable with Excel and data, and meticulous about detail
Genuinely curious about business, leadership and what makes organisations succeed or fail
Highly fluent in English;
Portuguese or further languages welcome
Confident with technology, deeply interested in AI, and excited to help us develop new applications of it within the firm
